Early in the summer a few friends and I thought it would be great to spend the long holiday weekend at the beach. We looked around at a few different areas on the gulf coast of Florida and finally settled on a townhouse on Clearwater Beach!

Ten of us will be heading up there for the weekend to relax by the pool and lay out on the beach while drinking some good summer drinks!

We plan on visiting some of the popular beach bars like Frenchy’s and Shephards.

Labor Day usually represents the end of summer but the heat continues to well in to the 90’s in Florida. I plan on leaving the computer off and checking my phone once or twice a day! Puuurrrfffeeeecccctttt!

The end of the summer makes me sad. I hate when I walk in to a store and they have moved all of their brightly colored clothing, house goods etc. off the shelf and replaced it with brown, yellow and green items for the fall. That is so depressing to me. Bright colors are happy colors!

Knowing I can’t go to the beach and lay out on a hot summer day makes me depressed.

Holidays bring around sad times in my life. My great-grandmother passed away on Christmas, my great-grandfather passed away on Halloween, my precious precious grandmother passed away a little over two weeks before Christmas and my grandfather passed away a week after Valentine’s Day.

I would rather just skip over the depressing holidays and move on to New Year’s when I am thinking about what I want to accomplish that year. This year I made a long list of things I wanted to accomplish before the end of the year. I hand wrote them all out and put them on my re-fridgerator for a daily reminder.

I think I have accomplished most of them. Go me! HA! (That’s another post!)

It seems as though the roughest times of my life has always been around the holidays.  I can imagine one day them not being so depressing, just don’t think it will be this year.

So anyway, the end of the summer makes me sad. The thought of sitting on the beach or next to the pool with a margarita, good music and good friends brings a smile to my face. Knowing that I won’t get to do that again for a while makes me sad.

Just when the case about little Caylee Anthony couldn’t get any sadder… A toy manufacturer is going to try to make money from the little girls murder.

The blonde-haired, 18-inch doll wears jeans and a T-shirt depicting a sun and the phrase: "CAYLEE SUNSHINE." The song "You Are My Sunshine" plays when her belly button is pushed.

Jaime Salcedo, president of Showbiz Promotions, said he is not selling a doll that looks exactly like Caylee because it would be too morbid and difficult for the public.

The doll will go on sale tomorrow for $29.99. I hope that no one purchases this doll .

I had always heard that spinning was brutal but you could burn a lot of calories. Since one of my roommates goes spinning I decided to join him and see what it was all about.

We went into this room that is dark and is only lit by black lights and get on our bikes. The seat on this bike is so uncomfortable!

We start warming up and I am dripping sweat and then I look up to this really bright digital clock in this dark room and it says we had only been in there 7 minutes! OMG! I was thinking, "I am not going to make it 45 minutes!"

About 6:40 pm I was glad we only had 5 minutes left, then it got to be 6:45 pm and the instructor said, "Only 3 more songs!"

I was like…. WHAT!?

So I made it through to the end of the class and my face was read as a tomato. I haven’t sweated that much since I use to compete in gymnastics. I trained in a gym here in Florida that didn’t have air conditioning and during the summers we would be dripping with sweat.

It was definitely the best workout I have had in a very long time. I tried to look up how many calories that are burned for spinning for an hour but I got different answers. On average anywhere from 300 to 800 calories in an hour depending on your tension settings etc..

I have a lot of weight I want to lose and I may as well get a good start on it before the New Year with all of the holiday parties coming up.

Our Naughty or Nice Christmas party was amazing! When we sent out the invite we told our guests to dress naughty or dress nice. A few people showed up in a naughty outfit and the rest came dressed nice. We didn’t get an exact count of everyone that came but it was well over a hundred. We made over 150 jello shots using 3oz syringes and they were gone within the first couple hours of the party. We definitely plan on having this party again next year!
