I don’t want to yell too loud but after the recent Google update my site went from a page rank 2 to a page rank 3! That inspires me to write more often.

Not sure if I will make it to the HGTV Dream House now that I am so much cash to pay for my truck repair. The shop called and said that they couldn’t find an engine for my truck because my truck is an early year model and they can only find late year models. The (*&^* don’t match up. The guy started to go in to spanish speaking mode when he told me what parts weren’t matching up. I felt like a deer in the headlight.

So they are going to rebuild the engine for an additional $750.00. Oh yeah! That brings the total to $5350.00.

They had dropped the price of the repair by $500.00 but now it is the extra $750.00 for the rebuild. Just finish it! I want my car back. But it doesn’t look like it will be until next week.

Mitsubishi Sucks!

When it rains it pours…

Over the weekend the engine in my 2001 Mitsubishi Montero blew up on the interstate. This is the 2nd Mitsubishi that I have owned that the motor has blown up in. I am still making payments on the &^%*&^ thing. So a used motor is about to cost me $4600.00.

Thank God and Dave Ramsey for things such as an emergency fund. If I didn’t have an emergency fund I just might be at the local mental ward. I don’t believe in financing anything but a home anymore. So that would have thrown me over the edge. Once my Montero is paid for, I will be debt free and I will NEVER NEVER NEVER go back. The feeling of R-E-L-I-E-F is priceless.

When I only have the cable, insurance, power, and cell phone bill rolling in each month, I can spend my money on what ever I want to. I no longer have to fund the luxury vacations for a CEO at Capitol One. I can fund MY vacation, with cash of course, or I am not going.

If I can’t pay for it, then I can’t have it. I have to tell myself, “NO!” That word doesn’t belong in most American’s vocabulary. I can’t stand hearing someone say, “I deserve it”, as they are charging up their credit card. You deserve to put yourself and family in a financial hole? You deserve to carry a huge burden around on your shoulders?

Cut up your credit cards and start off the New Year on the right foot. Make this the year that you distinctly remember changing your life. Make 2008 the year you gave a gift to yourself… financial peace.

I am sure you don’t remember what your resolution was in 2007. So make 2008 memorable! You deserve it!

I fell in love with the HGTV Dream House in Islamorada, Florida. My dream is to live on the beach. When I think of beach house HGTV got it right with this house. All of the colors are so vibrant and beautiful. You can enter to win this house once a day until February 19th. I will have to set me up a reminder in my Outlook to enter the contest every night.

They are offering tours of this house! I am so excited. It looks like I will be taking a trip to the Florida Keys! January 3rd - March 2nd.
