J.B’s Fish Camp New Smyrna Beach, FL

Author: admin  //  Category: Beach Trips, Food

A few of my friends and I got together over the weekend and went to the beach. It was a perfectly clear, sunny day! It’s one of those perfect beach days that I dream about.

I have a fascination with eating a meal over-looking the water. Something about it that makes me so happy. After a day at the beach, we had a nice sun burn and wanted to eat some seafood. We headed to J.B.’s Fish Camp in New Smyrna Beach, FL. You have the option to sit inside or sit outside overlooking the river. They have a dock on the river, so if you are on your boat you can dock it and get something to eat. We opted to eat outside.

We were told that they are popular for their rock shrimp but they are not in season right now. Two of us ordered the Turtle Mound Sampler.  We had the choice of light, medium or heavy seasoning. We ordered medium. Our server brought out a huge tray oysters, clams, crabs and shrimp. We were shocked that we received so much food for  $16.50. You can’t beat that! That tray of food at Red Lobster would have cost $50.00… atleast!

You have to peel the shrimp, shuck the clams etc. yourself. We didn’t mind doing that for the freshness of the seafood that we received.

We ended the meal with a slice of key lime pie and it was out of this world! Our server’s mom is the manager and makes the key lime pie daily.

We all left happy campers with full bellies wondering when we are going to make it back there again!?
